THANKSGIVING DAY CHOICES

A day for giving thanks. But there are many who do not know who to thank or what to give thanks for. As for me, I thank God for faith. For He has given everyone a measure of faith. God has also given everyone the ability to make decisions, the ability to choose for our own selves what we will do with the faith which He has given us.

There is an old life maxim; "The choices we make dictate the life that we lead. To thine ownself be true."

Deut. 30:19; "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendents may live."

What better way to be true to thine ownself than to choose life with God. Choosing to have faith in God does not make you perfect in all that you do. Everyone makes wrong decisions and fails (sins), some more often others less often. When your faith is in God, if you fail (sin) you are forgiven. But if your faith is somewhere other than in God and you fail (sin), you are not forgiven. Rms 3:22-24; "Even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."

I thank God that my salvation comes through the faith He has given me and that it is not based on the good or bad things which I have done. Eph. 2:8-9; "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

I thank God for faith, faith to believe that He loves me and all of mankind. John 3:16-18; "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

God has given everyone faith and the ability to choose how to use it. I pray that you will choose life and not death, choose blessing and not cursing. If you want to chose life and blessing, this is the way. Rms 10:8-10, 13; " But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

To thine ownself be true, have faith in God. There are many Churches close to where ever you may live. Please find one that teaches and preaches Jesus Christ Lord of lords, and King of kings.
